Summary
Cinacalcet is a calcimimetic drug that mimics the action of calcium to stimulate calcium sensors in the parathyroid gland. This stimulation reduces the production of parathyroid hormone. Due to this mechanism, cinacalcet is mainly used for the treatment of hyperparathyroidism.
