Summary

The complete blood count, or CBC is a panel of laboratory values commonly measured in patients to monitor their overall health and cell counts. The first thing you’ll see when you order a CBC are two lines criss-crossed across each other, literally like a cross. Between these two lines, you’ll see four different numerical values. They’re placed as follows: white blood cell count is on the left, hemoglobin count is on top, platelet count is on the right, and hematocrit is on the bottom.
